Aims:

 

The Students Union is one of the University institutions that has the following aims:-

 
-

Enrichment of the academic life and the organisation of the students scientific, social and cultural activities with the aim of the development of their talents, and to enable them to contribute positively  in the processes of national culture.

-

Conservation of the independence of the University, freedom of thought and scientific research.

- To take care of the students problems and seek ways of solving them.
-

To strengthen relations with the University community and administration.

-

To play their positive role in the national problems and preservation of national unity.

- To strengthen relations with students abroad, particularly from Arab, African and Islamic countries. The Union also supports the struggle of  students and repressed peoples for freedom and independence.

- Societies, leagues and clubs, as specified by the rules.
   
The Union’s Council:
  The Union’s Council is composed of 40 members. The elections  for the 2002 / 2003 session was held in July 2003.
   
 

The Chairman of the Council is: Thomas Marial Deng.

   
The Executive Committee:
 

The Union’s Executive Committee, elected in the elections held in July 2003, consists of the following members:-

3- Deputy General Secretary: Omer Elfarouk Abdel Aziz
4- Financial Secretary: Mohamed Elamin Elmabrouk
5- Communication & Information Secretary: Hamza Balol Elamir
6- Social Affairs Secretary: Muhanad Abdel Rahim Hassan
7- Sports Secretary: Omer Abdel Rahman
8- Academic Secretary: Tag Elkhatim Abdel Ghafour
9- Cultural Secretary: Afolo Aiweel Shair
