One current IUS project is a scientific study under
the title: THE CITY IN THE EYES OF CHILDREN. The study will be based
an annual drawing competition between the 6th graders of
different Khartoum primary schools – selected by location and
gender. Apart from the main objective of inspiring children to
put forward strong statements about the urban environment, the
outcome of this study is designed to help planners and decision
makers grasp the importance of popular participation of an
important section of the city dwellers. The competition is also
aiming at opening the world of color and art to children at this
age and removing their inhibitions of using drawing and color to
express their thoughts. |
