The Library of the IAAS contains a colection of about 17,000 books and over 320 periodicals titles pertaining to the the subjects taught at the institute. The library operates in cooperation with the University of Khartoum Library, The Central Records Office and other specialized libraries, both within and outside the Sudan. A qualified librarian supervises the activities of the library, which include the aquisition of new publications and exchange of the Institute's publications with other instituites in Europe, USA, Middle East and other parts of Africa.

Attached to the library, is documentation centre, which is concerrned with aquisition and classification of research materials. This centre issued a series of specialized bibliographies. The centre also publishes the Sudan Research Informatin Bulletin, which documents the research activities of the institute.

It is hoped to develop the documentation centre as an important repository for materials on the Sudan, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
