The Staff Development Centre

 

The Centre was founded in 1994 to cater to the educational and administrative capabilities of the teaching assistants, lecturers and assistant professors as well as teachers and trainers in other institutions.

   
 

The Centre aims towards qualifying the new members of the teaching staff, the advancement of teaching methods and training in the use of modern means of education as well as promoting methods of educational assessment and the promotion of academic research in these fields.

   
 

The Centre has organized eleven training sessions for university members of staff, and a workshop for the problems of university education as well as a special session for lecturers from the faculties and institutes of the armed and other regimental forces.

   

Al Mualimat (female students) College:

 

The Mu'alimat College was founded in 1921 and then developed into an Institute for the training of teachers for the intermediate level in 1961. The two institutions were merged together in 1993 and incorporated in the Faculty of Education. The Faculty of Education awards the B.A. General (Education) for the primary level teachers after candidates complete 136 credit hours. The graduators are employed at the primary level schools. The B.A. curriculum is considered as a model to be followed in the new faculties of education.

   
 

The number of female students enrolled are (750) of whom (400) female students have registered recently.
